Shostakovich did the arrangement for two harps of Mili Balakirev’s piano polka in F sharp minorat the end of 1941 in Kuibyshev.
The Polka was not published until after the composer’s death, in 1979, by Sovetsky kompozitor Publishers (Moscow) in the Album of Pieces for Harp, Vol. 1. The audio recording was done in the 1980s by Svetlana Paramonova and Irina Pashinskaya (1988, Melodiya).
